Ernie H. Schnobrich , 87, of Little Falls, formerly of the Cushing area, passed away Tuesday (Dec. 14) at St. Otto's Care Center in Little Falls.
Funeral services are Friday at 11 a.m. at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls with John Yourczek officiating. Burial will be in the Cushing Union Cemetery.
Friends may call Friday from 9 a.m. until the service at the Shelley Funeral Chapel.
Ernie was born July 18,1917 in New Ulm, to the late George and Emma 'Krueger' Schnobrich. He, his two brothers and four sisters, lived in New Ulm until 1923, at which time the family moved to Blakely, MN. Ernie was married to Evelyn Yancey in 1939 and they later divorced. While working at Downtown Chevrolet he met Marjorie 'Marge' Nieman. They were married on August 2,1951. Among Ernie's many talents was his musical ability. He never learned to read music but rather, learned by sound. Ernie also spoke fluent German. During WW 11, he was an interpreter of German POWs. Ernie enjoyed conversing in German when he had the chance, most notably on a trip to Germany in 1992.
Ernie H. Schnobrich is survived by his wife, Marge E. Schnobrich; sons, Wayne Schnobrich of Cushing, MN and Gary Schnobrich and wife, Debbie of Cushing, MN; daughters, Mary Anderly and husband, Jim of Le Sueur, MN; Lori Tongen and husband, Lee of Lakewood Ranch, FL and Karen Rechtzigel and husband, Jeff, of Miltona, MN; sisters, Helen Schmidt of New Ulm, MN; Sally Hoffman of Mankato, MN and Amanda Gag of Springfield, MN; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Ernie was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and four sisters.
