When we moved in 10 years ago, our neighbor's cat, Suzy, was always in our yard, okay. They told us she was 16. Suzy, or "Tuzzi" as I called her was completely deaf & going blind, skittish, but a sweetie pie. Neighbors moved, leaving her & another cat behind:( We took them both in, loving them as our own. We treat all the kitties with tuna every other weekend, so Saturday Suzy ate well, acted usual. Tuesday night John asked me to pray with him for Suzy, he didn't think she'd make it through the night, labored breathing. We prayed. Wednesday early a.m. John told me Suzy couldn't walk & wasn't interested in the tuna he offered her & breathing was VERY labored. John laid her in her favorite place in the back yard & went to work. The vet came 8:20 a.m., Suzy was in the same spot. Vet checked her out & gave me the news we expected, but didn't want to hear. Suzy's heart was giving out. Vet gave her the first shot & she went to sleep. Vet rechecked her heart & told me it was nearly inaudible & she couldn't get enough oxygen, so he gave the 2nd shot, stopping her heart. Vet said Suzy was indeed in her 20's. Vet put Suzy in a BIG box, next to the house in the shade. I heard noises around the box, figured out it was Charlie, as he sat in the yard howling like a wolf for a long time. Yes, our Charlie LOVES cats & it is his ritual to slobber each cats head every morning. John buried her in the back yard along with the others that went before her. We are heartbroken. We only got one photo of Suzy.
