HENRY (HANK) ALLEY, 85, of Florence died January 8, 1996. He was born January 11, 1910 in Leoti, Kansas to Jacob M. & Jessie (Martin) Alley. Henry was a heavy equipment operator and Custodian Engineer for Re2J School District. He had lived in Florence since 1951 and was a member of the Florence United Methodist Church, Methodist Men and IOOF Fremont 98. Henry & Martha Mae Mosher of Saguache were married on January 13. 1933 in Taos, New Mexico. She preceded him in death on April 29, 1992.
Henry & Martha graduated from the Saguache County High School with the Class of 1932. He is survived by six sons and two daughters: Harold Eugene (Carol) Alley of Seattle, Wash., Phyllis Louise (Bill) Croll of Cherryfield, Maine; William Henry (Betty) Alley of Akron, Ohio; Howard Ephraim (Irna Jo) Alley of Colorado Springs, CO; Dona Lea (Bill) Graham of Colorado Springs, CO; Harvey Kenwyn Alley of Florence, Harl Douglas (Marie) Alley of Mesa. Arizona; and Ronald Dale (Nanci) Alley of Alamosa, CO. Also surviving is a brother, George Alley of Lakewood. A memorial service was held January 11, at the Florence United Methodist Church with Rev. Ray Logan Officiating.
Donna Palmer was pianist and Helen Braly played the organ for the chosen selections: "How Great Thou Art", "Old Rugged Cross" and "It Is Well With My Soul". A eulogy was given by Ron Alley and scripture readings were by Stephen (Pat) Mosher and Harvey Alley. Private burial will be at a later date.
