NIAGARA, Wis. — Robert E. White Sr., 69, of 401 Robinson St., Niagara, died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2000, at Bellin Memorial Hospital in Green Bay, Wis.
He was born June 23, 1931, in Beecher, Wis., son of the late Aaron Everett and Minne (Groy) White.
He married Mildred Mellott on Jan. 20, 1951, in Sterling, Ill.
In 1966, his farm won the "Outstanding Young Farmer in Marinette County" award.
He became Town of Dunbar supervisor in 1971, serving to 1974; was elected to the County Board of Dunbar and Goodman district in 1974 and the Wisconsin County Forestry Association in 1978, holding both posts until 1982. In 1985, Robert was elected the 100th chairman of the Town of Dunbar, serving until 1987.
He leaves his wife, Mildred; four sons, Robert White Jr. and wife, Susan, of Sun Prairie, Wis., Ray (Elsie) White of Niagara, Larry (Diane) White of Dunbar and Terry (Wanda) White of Clyde, Texas; three sisters, Betty Kelly of Pembine, Wis., Doris (John) Steele of Pembine and Linda (Dale) Krause of Pembine, Wis., 14 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Private graveside services will be in Dunbar Cemetery in Dunbar.
