Sister Thomas Aquinas Lynch, a retired teacher, died Wednesday (April 18, 1990) at Incarnate Word Convent in Normandy after suffering from pneumonia. She was 93.
Sister Lynch began teaching elementary school in 1914 in West Plains, Mo. She taught for about six years at the old Blessed Sacrament School in St. Louis.
She also had teaching assignments in Jefferson City, Macon and Cadet in Missouri, and in Illinois, Maryland, North Dakota and Texas. She retired to Incarnate Word Convent in 1972.
Sister Lynch was born in Ireland. She came to the United States in 1911 and entered the order of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word that year. She took her final vows in 1919 in San Antonio, Texas.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 3:30 p.m. today in the chapel of Incarnate Word Convent , 2800 Normandy Drive in Normandy. Burial will be in the convent cemetery.
There are no immediate survivors.
