Sister Mary Helen Mann, a member of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word for 65 years, died Tuesday (Nov. 22, 1994) of infirmities at the Incarnate Word Hospital convent in St. Louis. She was 93.
Sister Mann, who was born in Puttlingen, Germany, came to this country as a child and entered the Incarnate Word Convent in Normandy in 1927.
She professed her religious vows in 1929 and worked as a seamstress for the order through 1976, serving at orphanages and convents in Missouri, Illinois and Texas for 46 years.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Marillac Provincial House chapel, 7800 Natural Bridge Road, Normandy. Burial will be at Incarnate Word Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the order's chapel.
There are no immediate survivors.
