CANNELBURG — Wilbur Yoder, 65, died at 6:40 p.m. Monday at the home of his brother Jerry O. Yoder, where he had lived for the past eight months. Born March 28, 1946, in Elkhart County, he was the son of Ora and Mattie (Yoder) Yoder. Wilbur was one of God's special children. At 7 years of age he was admitted to Coldwater State Home and Training School in Coldwater, Mich., where he spent 20 years. His sister Fannie cared for him the next 20 years after which brother Alvin cared for him for 17 1/2 years and the last eight months by his brother Jerry. He is survived by three brothers, Alvin E. Yoder and Jerry O. Yoder, both of Cannelburg, and Perry O. Yoder of Goshen; two sisters, Amanda Mae Tubbs of Elkhart and Fannie Ellen (Eberly) Yoder of White Pigeon, Mich.; one brother-in-law, Lester Miller of Peru, Ind.; 14 nieces, 23 nephews and many great-nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Herman Yoder, two sisters, Savilla Miller and an infant; and two nephews. The funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Canaan Fellowship Church in Epsom. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Daviess County Handicapped Children's Fund, 144N 900E, Cannelburg, IN.
