Funeral Services for Mr. Wendell Boyd of Lancaster were held Friday, March 5, 2010 at 1 P.M. at the Beulah Baptist Church with Pastor Milton Jackson, Officiating.
Wendell Boyd, son of the late Marietta and Nathaniel Boyd, Sr., was born in Lancaster County, Virginia on March 7, 1942.
Wendell attended the public schools of Lancaster County, and was a member of the Beulah Baptist Church in Lively, Virginia.
For many years he worked as a waterman; he had a passion for cards, music, dancing and food.
Peacefully on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the Lancashire Convalescence and Rehabilitation Center, Wendell passed away joining his parents, and ten sibling that predeceased him.
He leaves to mourn: sisters: Shirley T. Wood (Larry) and Lillie Boyd of Morattico, Virginia; Helen Boyd of Litwalton, Virginia; Bernice Towles (Howard) of Nuttsville, Virginia and Annie Coleman of White Stone, Virginia; brothers: Nathaniel Boyd, Jr. of Williamsburg, Virginia; Major Boyd (Josephine) of Litwalton and Joseph Boyd of Knoxville, Tennessee; one aunt and uncle, Mrs. Mary Davenport and Mr. Willie Kelly of Nuttsville, Virginia; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Interment services were held at the church cemetery where his pall bearers were: Nelson Boyd, Wilbert Boyd, Brian Boyd, Frank Howard, Clovies Boyd, Douglas Boyd, Mathew Boyd, Nelson Boyd, Jr. and Morrison Lee, Jr. with his floral bearers were his nieces and friends of the family.
