Thomas Jefferson "Tommy" Cox, age 79, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Friday, June 16th, at his residence. He was born in Elkhorn, West Virginia on May 23, 1927, to the late Solomon Jefferson and Mary Eskie Lineberry Cox.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Cox of Martinsville, Virginia; daughter, Mary Ann Williams of Charleston, West Virginia; step-daughter, Lisa Gilley of Richmond, Virginia, one son, John Thomas Cox of Princeton, West Virginia, sister, Phyllis Shropshire of Louisville, Kentucky and four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 19th at 2:00 PM, at the Cox Family Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Chatham Heights Baptist Church, 1235 Old Chatham Road, Martinsville,Va. 24112.
