FROM HIS OBITUARY:
Peter Daniel Sjolund, 77, died Sept. 8 at the Homestead Nursing Home in Deer River. Born in Sweden, Sjolund was a lifetime resident of Jessie Lake. He was a longtime employee of Great Northern Railway as a tie bucker and also worked many years as a logger. Funeral services were held Sept. 11 at the Carroll Funeral Home in Deer River with Rev. Timothy Baglien officiating. Interment was at Donnelly Cemetery in Bowstring. Funeral arrangements were provided by the Carroll Funeral Home. Sjolund is survived by two sisters, Lillian Howe of Milwaukee and Helen Sjolnd of Jessie Lake, and numerous nieces and nephews.
