Carlos Baca, life long resident of Valencia county, and prominent New Mexico citizen, died at his home In Los Lunas Wednesday evening at 9:25 o'clock. Death came after on Illness of almost two years. The deceased was about 70 years of age. Mr. Baca was a prominent cattle and sheep man until he retired from active life ten years ago.
He also was an outstanding political figure, serving in the state legislature and senate for a number of years. Mr. Baca was also one of the early sheriffs of Valencia county, serving in that capacity for ten years after having acted as county clerk for several terms, he is survived by his wife and a daughter, Margaret, of Los Lunas, and by three brothers and three sisters. The sisters are Mrs. Beatrice Gilbert, Belen; Mrs. Luz Romero, Los Lunas; and Mrs. M. L. Baca, Albuquerque.
The brothers are Jacobo Baca, Peralta; Abel Baca, Belen, and A. B. Baca. Albuquerque.
