William P. Reynolds passed away Monday, Dec. 4, at 9:45 p.m., having lived to see his 82nd birthday, which was celebrated on Nov. 23 with a birthday dinner. He was in as good health as usual. On Wednesday evening following he was stricken with a paralytic stroke, from which he never recovered, although living five days with a clear mind, recognizing his children, who were at his bedside.

Mr. Reynolds was born Nov. 28, 1834, within two miles of where he died and had lived in that vicinity all his life. He was married three times. He married Lucinda Ward, Sept. 14, 1854. To them was born 10 children. She passed away Oct. 1, 1876. He was united in marriage to Mrs. Martha C. Ferguson, June 4, 1882. She passed away Oct. 6, 1897. His third marriage was with Mrs. Margaret Mason, Aug. 21, 1898.

Mr. Reynolds is mourned by his wife; two brothers, John and James, who live nearby; two sisters, Mrs. Samuel Mayhew of Monett, Mo., and Mrs. Ed Serage of Joplin, Mo.; four daughters, Mrs. H. A. Hyland of Shelbyville, Mrs. A. E. Patrick of Avoca, Iowa, Mrs. Maude Parish of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Mrs. W. S. Elliott of Eldora, Iowa; five sons, Joel of Decatur, Ed of Michigan City, Ind., William, John and Charles of this vicinity; four stepchildren, Mrs. Will Simms, Mrs. Ben Tull and John Mason of this vicinity and Webster Ferguson of Minekah, Okla.; 22 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Reynolds joined the Church of Christ some 30 years ago and lived a good Christian life. He was an excellent gentleman, held in high esteem by all who knew him. Elder W. A. Bates of Findlay conducted the funeral and burial services at Bethany Church Wednesday forenoon.

People from a distance who attended the funeral services were Ed Reynolds and wife of Michigan City, Ind., and Joel Reynolds of Decatur.
