A native of Miami, FL she was the daughter of the late Joseph Olin Clewis and Dorothy Margaret Ott Clewis. Kathy attended Miami Senior High School, as well as at Miami-Dade Junior College. She retired from the Florida Power and Light Company. Kathy enjoyed nature and the mountains. For pleasure she painted, read, and gardened. No dogs could have a better master. She was devoted to her aging mother, Dorothy, whom she cared for until her demise at 98.
Survivors include her brother, Monroe Thomas Clewis of Asheville, and his wife, Susanna Ma Clewis of China.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM April 9, at St.Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Swannanoa, with interment to follow at the St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church Columbarium, where she will be set to rest side by side with her mother.
