He was born March 15, 1931 in Houpt to Edward and Anna (Johnson) Bowman. He attended rural Houpt School and graduated from Blackduck High School in 1950. He then spent some time in the U.S. Army and also worked in California for a short time.
After returning to Blackduck, he worked at the Hartz Grocery Store and then at the Jerry’s IGA store until retirement. He was active at the Senior Citizens Center in Blackduck and enjoyed being around people and visiting.
He is survived by two sisters, Aryls Arionus of Bremerton, Wash. and Ardena Doss of Owatonna; and a brother, Verne Bowman of Wadena.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and two sisters.
