Bernice Long of Wilburton, OK died Friday, April 29, 2011 in Poteau, Ok at the age of 82. Bernice was born November 27, 1928 to John and Lorene (Jack) Burnett in Red Oak, Oklahoma. She grew up in Leflore and Red Oak, Oklahoma. She married Chester Long. Bernice enjoyed traveling with her friends on the Choctaw Senior Trips. She was a member of the Thessalonian Baptist Church. She is survived by her sons, Jerry Colbert and wife Darlene of Gallatin, TN, Tommy Colbert of Poteau and Steve Long and wife Barbara of Hackett, AR; sister, Jo Graves and husband Dennis of Amarillo, TX; twelve grandchildren: Tina, Christy, Tammy, Tommy, Timmy, Torry, Teddy, Heather, Jeremy, Chris, Tony and John; numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends. Bernice is preceded in death by her parents, John and Lorene Burnett; husband Chester Long; son, Sam Colbert; sisters, Wanda Johnson, Mae Hatcher and Carolyn Littlejohn; and brother, Dear Jack (Hambone) Burnett. The Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 2, 2011 at the Thessalonian Baptist Church, Salonia, Oklahoma. Interment will follow. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Tommy Lee Colbert, Timmy Colbert, Torry Colbert, Teddy Colbert, Jeremy Long and Chris Long.
