CANDLER COUNTY - Annie People Doyle, 59, died Jan. 3 at home.
A native and lifelong resident of Candler County, she graduated from Candler County Training School and Southeast School of Practical Nursing in Douglas. She attended Brunswick Junior College, was employed with Candler County Hospital for 22 years and for Care One Residential Health Care five years. She was a member of Thankful Missionary Baptist Church, president of Women Missionary Department of the Queen of Victory Association, member of Pulaski Chapter of Order of Eastern Star No. 44, NAACP, Candler County Concerned Citizens, Candler County Culture Committee, H.E.L.P., Cherokee Rose Garden Club, Georgia Association of Garden Clubs, Bloomin' Festival flower show committee, Board of Directors of the Department of Family and Children Services and Wisteria District Garden Club.
SURVIVORS: a daughter, Renee' Doyle of Washington, D.C.; three sons, Dwayne Doyle of Pulaski, Jeffrey Doyle of Washington, D.C. and Keith Doyle of Memphis, Tenn.; her stepmother, Celestine Peoples of Metter; three sisters, Almetta Peoples of Metter, Jewel Wilkerson of Savannah and Robbie Mincey of Reidsville; two brothers, Charles Lattimore and George Peoples, both of Orlando, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Ava Hendricks of Metter; 10 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and other relatives.
FUNERAL: 2 p.m. today at Thankful Missionary Baptist Church, Metter, burial in Mercer Grove Church Cemetery.
