Parents were Pierre and Madame Dorian. Baptiste was one of her sons that survived her famous journey in the winter. After Pierre was killed, she started out for the West toward Fort Vancouver. She left her two sons covered by tree branches and what coverings she had. Leaving to find help, a few days later while snow blind, she was found by some friendly Indians. They found her sons safe.

Baptiste married Josephine Walla Walla.

Madam Dorian is buried on the French Prairie at the Mission of St. Louis.
