Family Present at Passing of Mrs. P. Andrews
Mrs. Prudence Andrews, a former resident of Grass Valley, passed away at the home of her dughter, Mrs. Earl Malcolm, 2307-65th avenue, Oakland, on Thursday, July 18 with all of her children at her bedside.
Mrs. Andrews was the widow of the late Joseph Andrews, who was fatally hurt at the Empire mine in 1903. Shortly after this incident, Mrs. Andrews with her family of three sons and two daughters left for Oakland, where she made her permanent home.
The body was taken to the Truman Funeral Parlors, 30th and Telegraph, Oakland, where funeral services were held Monday, July 22. The remains will be taken to the California Crematory and the ashes will be brought to Grass valley for Interment in the family plot beside the remains of her late husband in the City Cemetery.
Mrs. Andrews leaves the following children: Joseph, Clarence and Guy Andrews of Oakland; Mrs. Mamie Viscia and Mrs. Mabel Malcolm.
The decedent was 76 years of age and was a native of Canada. She was very well known in Grass Valley where she had visited almost every year since leaving the city. Her many friends will be grieved to learn of her passing.
