Lois M. Krings, age 80, of Embarrass, passed away peacefully Tuesday evening December 28, 2010, at her residence. Lois was born on March 2, 1930, in Underhill, WI on the family farm. She was the daughter of the late Carl and Anita (Schultz) Marohl. In 1948, Lois graduated from Bonduel High School, and early in her career worked in banking. She was united in marriage on August 8, 1950 in Gillett, WI to John M. Hackett. John later preceded his wife in death on May 13, 1963. Lois then moved to Shawano where she became the first female real estate broker in the area. She was then united in marriage to Edward R. Krings on August 5, 1967 and with their 5 children made their home in Embarrass. Lois kept active in banking and real estate. Later on in life Lois and Ed enjoyed clerking auctions and spending time at their cabin and game farm in Gresham. Lois was a whiz with numbers and enjoyed raising the deer on the game farm. She also enjoyed playing bingo, sheephead, and watching the Green Bay Packers. Lois also loved cardinals, chocolate, and feeding her chipmunks on the front porch.
Survivors include: her husband, Edward; children: Jeannine (Joe) Ruch, Embarrass; Michael (Connie) Hackett, Appleton; Patricia (Joseph) Rohan, Embarrass; Gene (Jayne) Hackett, Sobieski; step children: John Hackett, KS; Dave (Carol) Hackett, Fish Creek; Karyl Krings, Wilton, CT; grandchildren: Rachel Ruch, Green Bay; and Jonathon and Jayden Hackett, Sobieski; four brothers: Charles (Audrey) Marohl, Shawano; Marlin (Mary) Marohl, Pardeeville; Allen (Audrey) Marohl, Bonduel; Dale (Pat) Marohl, Bonduel; her sister: Susan Rhode, Green Bay. Also numerous step grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many wonderful friends.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents and her husband John M. Hackett.
