Spalding County Ga Archives Obituaries.....Samuel Dinkins December 25 1858
Empire State - Spalding County - Week of January 6, 1859
Died at his residence in this place on the morning of the 25th ult., of a
disease of the heart, Samuel Dinkins, in the 53rd year of his age. Mr. Dinkins was a native of Richland District, S. C. and has been a citizen of this county about 20 years. He has been one of our most successful planters. A short time previous to his death, he joined the Methodist Church, professing a lively hope of his future happiness beyond the grave.
Samuel's parents were Lewis Dinkins and Elizabeth Scott.
He was married to Priscilla Williamson. An 1850 census showed the following children Eustace, age 10, and Edwin, age 16. I can only assume Custis was born after the census.
