Roger Dell Bass, 69, of Liberty, Ms., passed away Wednesday March 2, 2016 at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, Ms. He was born May 8, 1946, the son of Tom A. Bass and Elsie Jackson Bass. He worked as a self -employed plumber for 30 years and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
Roger is survived by his wife of 47 years, DeLacy Hays Bass.
One daughter Stacy Bass Smith and her husband Worth A. Smith III.
One son Stephen D. Bass.
2 grandchildren, Madeline A. Bass and Ethan L. Bass.
1 brother Hansel Bass and his wife Angie; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by His parents, Tom A. Bass and Elsie Jackson Bass. 2 brothers, Tommie R. Bass and Jimmie M. Bass. One sister Olivia Bass Tarver.
Visitation is Friday March 4, 2016, at Brown Funeral Home in Liberty, Ms., 5;00 P.M. until, 8:00 P.M. Visitation Saturday, is at Liberty Baptist Church from 10:00 A.M. until time of funeral services at 11:00 A.M., Saturday at the church. Officiated by Rev. Bradley Geno and Rev. James Sadler. Interment will follow in Blalock Cemetery in Liberty.
Pallbearers are Charles “Smiley” Kirkland, Eli Harrell, Robert Seal, Eddie Forman, Gary “Fish” Van Norman and David Motichek. Honorary pallbearers are Melvin Blalock, and nephews, Jason Bass, Jacob Bass, Robbie Bass, Bodie Bass, and Adam Hays.
