Amos & Mary were married Aug. 4, 1859.

God in His infinite wisdom has seen fit to call to the great beyond, Amos Milton, son of Amos and Eliza Coombs.
He was born Jan. 15, 1837 and departed this life August 10, 1927, at the age of ninety years, 6 months and 25 days.
On August 14, 1859 he was united in marriage to Mary Anna Smith who preceded him in death Jan. 8, 1916. To this union were born eight children; Leslie, a soldier of the Spanish-American war, died soon after landing in San Francisco at the age of 28; a daughter Orphie also passed to her reward at the age of 32.
He was a member of the Pryorville, Ky. Baptist church but after coming to Indiana transferred his membership to the Methodist church at New Philadelphia.
During the past five years he had made his home with a a daughter Mrs. James Warman of Hammond, Ind. and had until the past fourteen months been active, but during the month of June (last) he suffered a stroke of paralysis, had since been very feeble and during the past six months had been constantly confined to his bed and all the tender and loving care of his daughter, neighbors and friends could not change the will of God who had given him a life of many years.
Amos - with kind, tender personalities, whose interest was always of others will be greatly missed by those who knew him best.
He leaves to mourn his loss, four sons and two daughters, namely: - Mrs. James Warman, Hammond, Ind.; Mrs. Robert McKnight, Hillsborough, Oregon; William A. of Los Angeles, Calif,; Fred of Carwood, Ind.; and Louis L. of Brookville, Florida. Frank, Louis and Mrs. Warman were at the bedside when the Mighty Reaper called his own.
There are also sixteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
The love and respect held for the deceased by friends in Hammond is shown by the many lovely flowers.
The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. W.R. Matney of Canton at Mt. Carmel United Brethren church, at 10:30 o'clock Saturday morning. Burial in Mt. Carmel cemetery.
