Heflin - Rev. G.K. Abner, 87, died Sunday May 06, 2012 at Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 09, 2012, at Dryden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Chris Jackson, Dr. Larry Riddle, Dr. Tommy Wright, Dr. Kenneth Forsythe and Rev, Randy Morris officiating.Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 until 8 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Heflin City Cemetery. Dryden Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include: Jean Abner, wife of 61 years, Daughters:

Donna(Denver) Thompson, Douglasville, GA
Sister:Nadine(Aaron) Wilson
Sister-in-laws: Edna Abner and JoAnne Kebase

Rev. Abner a native of Winston County and resident of Cleburne County for most of his life served as pastor of several churches in Cleburne County during his almost 50 years in the ministry. He was very active in the Cleburne Baptist Association and also served a term on the State Board of Missions, he also was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II.
