Rose Ellain Parks left the arms of her loving family into the arms of Jesus and her loving husband, Lyle on Wednesday, April 9, 2014. She was born at home in Carlton on December 4, 1930 to Emil and Alma (Lavigne) Godbout. Rose was a 1948 graduate of Carlton High School. She was united in marriage to Lyle Parks on September 1, 1956 in the St. Francis Catholic Church. She worked at NW Paper Company, Burger Shoe Store and was known as the "money lady" working as the secretary for South Terrace Elementary School. Retiring in 1991, Rose and Lyle moved to Lake of the Woods for nine years.

Rose enjoyed playing cards, fishing, crossword puzzles, scrabble, watching sports and trap shooting. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children, grand and great grandchildren.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lyle in 2000; brothers Ernest and Daniel Godbout; sister AnnaMay Godbout; grandson Joshua Schmitz; brothers-in-law Leonard Wallace, Wendell and Russell Parks, sisters-in-law, Dorothy Johnson and Beverly Rodberg. She is survived by son Kevin; daughters Kim (Allan) Paulson, Tammi (Rick) Kinkel and Patti (Ray) Schmitz; sister Joyce Wallace; brother Richard (Beverly) Godbout; brothers-in-law Ken Parks and Jerry Rodberg; grandchildren Jackie, Tiffany, Christina, Ricky, Dylan, Trisha and Ashlyn; 5 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and her furry canine companions.

Spring interment will be in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery.
