CUMBERLAND - Ruth Edith Berry, 91, formerly of Clyde, N.Y., and residing at 12517 Lisa Drive, with her niece, Mrs. Gertrude Gillum, and husband, Norman, died at the Allegany County Nursing Home, Monday, June 8, 1998.
She was born in Bellview, Pa., on Oct. 3, 1906, and was a daughter of the late John Samuel Roberts and Edith Fern (Streeter) Roberts. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Palmer Arch Berry; a brother, Paul Roberts; and a sister, Jeanette Double.
She was the former owner and operator of Berry's Truck Stop in Clyde, N.Y.
She is survived by one son, Palmer Arch Berry Jr., and wife, Susan, Las Vegas, Nev.; and three grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
A funeral service will be held at 8:30 p.m. by the Rev. Malcolm Martin.
Burial will be in the North Rose Cemetery, North Rose, N.Y.
