George C. Burt of Loretta passed away at noon on Jan. 22 at the Park Falls Memorial Hospital.

The deceased was born on Sept. 11, 1899, to Mr. and Mrs. George Burt, Sr. in the town of Sigel, Chippewa County.

He was married to Louise Anderson in 1923. She passed away in 1927. In 1938 he was married to Hazel Hakes.

Surviving are his wife, Hazel; four daughters and eleven sons, Mrs. Lawrence (Ione) Witt, Racine; Mrs. Ben (Lois) Vavra, Chippewa Falls; Lennis, Mundelein, IL; Eugene, Plymouth; John, serving in the US Army in Germany; Tom, Charles, Dick, Ernest, Sue, Steve, and Ralph at home; two sisters, Mrs. Floyd Dodge, Chippewa Falls; Mrs. Ruth Larson of Omaha, NB; one brother, Vernon of Chippewa Falls; and 13 grandchildren. His parents, a sister, a brother, and two grandchildren preceded him in death.
