Margaret Susan James Clements, 93, died Sunday, May 7, 2000, in Riverside Walter Reed Hospital. She was the widow of Louis Alfred Clements and the daughter of the late Jefferson and Margaret Culpeper James. She was a native of Mathews County and had lived in Gloucester County most of her life.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Gloucester, the Women of First Presbyterian Church, the Augustine Warner Chapter of the DAR, and the North River Circle of The King's Daughters.

She is survived by her children, Peggy C. and her husband, H.B. Robins Jr., of Hayes, Barbara and her husband, Norman Groh, of Virginia Beach, Wilbur ''Bucky'' and his wife, Marian P. Clements, of Bena; four brothers, Andrew James, Woodrow James, Frank James and Robert James; seven grandchildren, Pamela S. Robins, H.A. Drew Robins, Mark F. Clements, Louis E. Clements, Steven C. Groh, Blair G. Ege, and A. Jefferson Groh; and four great-grandchildren.

A funeral was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, in the chapel of Andrews Funeral Home, Gloucester, by the Rev. Charles Tucker. Burial is in Newington Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Abingdon Volunteer Rescue Squad, Box 247, Gloucester Point, VA 23062.
