JAVINE JAMES LEWIS
Funeral services were held Oct. 28 in the Salem Presbyterian Church of Oak Grove for Javine James Lewis, 56, who died Oct. 25 in Ada. The Rev. Charley Carter officiated. Interment was in Salem Cemetery with arrangements by Clagg Funeral Home.
Lewis was born Nov. 20, 1939, in Lawton to Winford and Elsie (Williamson) Lewis. He married Nolena Nelson on Jan. 9, 1959, at Gainesville, Texas. He grew up in the Stratford, Oak Grove area and had lived in Sulphur since 1952. He worked for Stromberg-Carlson, Kraft Cheese, Dolese and Halliburton before his health required him to retire. He was a member of the Salem Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife of the home; three daughters, Terri Amos of Stratford and Beverly Pigeon and Elisha Brown, both of Sulphur; four sons, Javine James Lewis Jr. of Broken Arrow, Kim Lewis of Wynnewood and Clint Lewis and Glen Wisdom, both of Sulphur; mother, Elsie Lewis, of Sulphur; a brother, Alexander Lewis of Sulphur; five sisters, Vera Kemp and Regina Lopez, both of Sulphur, Louetta Fay Seely and Zelma Lanter, both of Davis, and Rowena Huff of Duncan; 20 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
