Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church. The Reverend Ray Schroeder and Reverend Frank King will officiate. Inurnment will follow at the Presbyterian Church Mausoleum.
Mr. MacKinnon was born October 15, 1915 at Concordia Kansas to Ross and Charlotte (Sorgatz) MacKinnon.
Karl married Betty (Keller) on January 7, 1942 in Atchison, Kansas.
Mr. MacKinnon served in the U.S. Army at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, during WWII.
Mr. MacKinnon was a registered Public Accountant in the state of Nebraska and a certified member of the Piano Tuners Guild.
He served as treasurer in several organizations including Central Nebraska Computers and the local Crime Stoppers, of which he was a founding member.
Mr. MacKinnon was recently inducted into the Nebraska Navy.
He was a long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church where he had also served as Deacon, trustee and elder.
Mr. MacKinnon is survived by his wife, Betty, of Grand Island; a daughter Betty and son-in-law, Larry Andersen of Arizona, four grandchildren; Shawn Andersen of Nevada, Kimberly (Andersen) Sweet of Texas, and Corey and Ian Andersen of Colorado. Great grandchildren include Cody and Haley Andersen and Allie and Maxwell Sweet.
Karl was preceded in death by one brother, Ross Taylor, and one sister, Dorothy Lottmann.
