Henry August (Heinrich) Cohrs was a farmer and carpenter. He was stricken with a heart attack while crank starting a Model T and died in his prime leaving a young family. Wife, Mary (Maria Henryetta Dorthea Anna Oldehoeft) Cohrs raised the couple's four children (Henry Peter William, Wilhemine Katharina Anna, Emma Anna Katharina and Edna Sophia Maria Anna) with the assistance of her father-in-law Peter Cohrs. Son Henry Peter William remembered Cohrs relatives coming from the Illinois area to attend the funeral.
