WILLIAM LYNN CANTRELL POUND, VA – William Lynn Cantrell, 76, died Monday September 3, 2012 of injuries sustained in a boating accident on Cherokee Lake. William was of the Freewill Baptist faith, was a retired coal miner and a friend to all. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother and friend. He loved to fish, hunt and spend time with his family. And also enjoyed riding his mule. William was preceded in death by his parents, Elzie and Ora (Mullins)Cantrell; his first wife, Julie Ann Cantrell; his second wife, Fannie Cantrell; his sisters, Anita Cantrell, Ova Mullins, Pauline Holiday and Cotella Boggs; and a brother, Carroll Cantrell. Survivors include his sons, Timothy Wayne Cantrell and wife Donna-Pound, VA and Jeff Cantrell and wife Jeannie-Pound, VA; grandchildren, Ladonna Cantrell, Cari Sturgill, Mitzi Cheek, Justin Cantrell, Caitlyn Cantrell and Kristen Day; nine great grandchildren and was expecting a tenth grandchild; brothers, Newton Cantrell and wife Muriel-Pound, VA, Ronnie Cantrell and wife Mary-Xenia, OH, Tobby Cantrell and wife Kay-Luray, VA and Richard Cantrell and wife Sandy-Jamestown, OH; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends and loved ones to mourn his loss and cherish his memory. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 pm Thursday September 6, 2012 in the Sadie Baker Memorial Chapel with Reverend Jack Blanton and Reverend Troy Belcher officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until time of services. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 am Friday September 7, 2012 at the Adams Cemetery on Roberts Branch in Eolia, KY. Family members will serve as pallbearers. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:15 am to prepare to go in procession to the cemetery.
