John H. Mulholland, age 72, of Dunnellon, Florida, passed away on July 5, 2010 at the Hospice House of Citrus County. Born on December 5, 1937, in Baltimore, Maryland, he was one of two children born to the late Harry and Louise Mulholland. He came to Florida in 1990, settling in Jacksonville, before locating in Marion County.
John was a Librarian by Education. He worked at the Charles Community College, and the University of Maryland, among other notable institutions. He received his High School Diploma from Calvert Hall, Baltimore, MD; his Bachelor of Arts in English from LaSalle College in Philadelphia, PA; and his Master's in Library Science from Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA.
In Florida, John worked as a Vocational Counselor; Child Care Worker and in Security. He lived in both Pine Ridge and in Dunnellon.
Described as a quiet, gentle and private man, John will be missed sadly by his relatives and friends. With wide-ranging interests from research, to lithographs, coins and stamps he always had something interesting to talk about with people. And his love for his family was incredible, especially his sister.
John is survived by his sister, Beverly, Rochester, MN; three nephews, John, Galesburg, Illinois, David and Peter, both of Rochester, MN; two nieces, Beverly Rochester, MN, and Martha, Green Bay, Wis. Additionally, he is survived by two great-nieces and one great-nephew.
Funeral services are still being arranged. John has been cremated and will be buried next to his mother, at Calvary Episcopal Church in Rochester, Minnesota. Memorials may be sent to The Hospice House of Citrus County at 3350 W. Audubon Park Path, Lecanto FL 34461.
