George "Frannie Warner" Barnes, 85, of 528 E. Lawton St., Saint Clair, died Monday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, Allentown.
Born in Pottsville, June 14, 1931, he was a son of the late George and Agnes Warner Barnes.
George served in the Army during the Korean War and retired as the Lehighton maintainer and signalman for Conrail.
He was a member of Saint Clair Veterans' Honor Guard and was a dedicated 62-year continuous member of Saint Clair American Legion Post 719.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his beloved sister, Mary "Babs" Hughes.

Surviving are his wife, Helen Stablum Barnes; three daughters, Lisa Barnes and her husband, Mohamed Benchaib, Pottsville, Kim Lukacz and her husband, Michael, Cressona, and Lori Maley and her husband, Tom, Schuylkill Haven; two brothers, Jerry Barnes, Mertztown, and Earl Barnes, Diener's Hill; two granddaughters, Lauren and Rachel Lukacz; two grandsons, Tyler and Zachary Maley; his best friends, Thumper and Josephine.
A celebration of a joyous life will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday at Bruce T. Hart Funeral Home, 110 N. Second St., Saint Clair. Friends may visit from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, and 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will be in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Arnot's Addition. Bruce T.
