REV. WILLIE BROWN
and ETTA EDWINA BROWN
Joint funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church, Sulphur, Feb. 25, for Rev. Willie Brown, 71, and Mrs. Etta Edwina Brown, 68, who died in an automobile accident at Sulphur, Feb. 22. Rev. L. A. Watson and Rev. Dewain Duck officiated. Interment was in Sandy Cemetery with arrangements by Clagg Funeral Home.
Rev. Brown was born April 3, 1911 at Sulphur. He was a missionary to the Chickasaw Baptist Association. He had pastured several churches in this area. He and Etta E. Monroe were married on July 26, 1938 at Pottawatamie County, OK. Etta Edwina Brown was born June 8, 1914 at LeFlore County, OK. She had lived most of her life in Murray County. She had been the past president of the WMU of the Chickasaw Baptist Association.
Survivors of the couple include two daughters, Willarene Amos and Wilma Nelson, both of Sulphur and one son, Milton Brown of Oklahoma City, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Mrs. Brown was survived by one sister, Ella Monroe, of Oklahoma City. Rev. Brown was survived by two sisters, Angie L. Brown and Lillie Ward, both of Sulphur.
