Mrs. Doris Smith Berry, 80, widow of Wilbur Carter Berry, died Monday August 7, 2006, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 9, at Bowman Southern Methodist Church with the Rev. Billy Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in the Bowman Memorial Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jackson West, Raysor Griffith, Albert Thompson Jr., David Weathers, Donnie Looper and Travis Infinger.

Mrs. Berry was born Nov. 9, 1925, in St. George a daughter of the late Leroy Eldridge and Ruby Horne Smith and was raised in Bowman by Charles and Ellen Smith Easterlin. She was a retired teacher#,s aide at Bowman Elementary School. She was a member of Bowman Southern Methodist Church, where she belonged to the Gladys Weathers Missionary Society and the Bowman American Legion Auxiliary.

Surviving are a son, Jerald E. ???Jerry?? (Rhonda) Berry of Bowman; a daughter, Becky B. (Carl) Hutchins, of Beaufort; grandchildren, Nancy (Travis) Infinger, of St. George, J.J. Berry, of Santee, Rhett Berry, Rebecca Berry, Jacob Berry, all of Bowman, Lisa (Donnie) Looper, of Branchville, April (Richard) Carmichael, of Temecula, Calif., Chauntee (Willie) McManus, of Mt. Pleasant and Jason Hutchins, of Beaufort; great-grandchildren, Marion and Madelyn Rose Infinger, Wesley, C.J., and Richard Carmichael, Tyler Looper and William McManus; special niece, Gayle J. West, of Bowman; and half sister, Diane Emond, of Charleston.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Bryant Funeral Home, St. George.
