MRS. MATTIE AUGHTMAN DIES AT 76, AT HOME OF SON WEDNESDAY A.M.
Mrs. Mattie Aughtman, aged 76, died at the home of her son, L. J. Aughtman, Wednesday morning after an illness of two months. She was a member of the Calvert Baptist Church.
She is survived by three sons, M.E. and L.J. Aughtman, of Andalusia, Route 3, Virgil Aughtman, of Pollard, Ala.; two daughters, Mrs. Maud Justice, of Orlando, Fla.; Mrs. Dell Powell, of Pensacola, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Sula Hayes of Andalusia, and Mrs. Lula Campbell of Highland Home.; two brothers, C.C. Hearley(Hurley ), of Andalusia, Route 2, and J.D.Hurley
, of California; twenty-four grandchildren and seven great -grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday at 10 a.m. at Harmony
Church with Rev. Eady officiating. Flower girls were Vera Harley, Ida Mae Aughtman, Ira Lee Whatley, Nadean Ray and Zona Broughton. Pallbearers were Carl C. Moore, Ortia Gay, Eugene Aughtman, Earl Aughtman, Willie Broughton, and Tom Sellers.
Burial was in the church cemetery with Benson Funeral Home in charge.
