James K. Pearson died at his home near Falls City Nebr. last Tuesday June 15. [SIC] Mr. Pearson was well known in this city and the western part of the county having lived here for a number of years. He was twice elected county treasurer of Sherman County and was unfortunate in losing a large sum of money in the closing of the old Sherman County Banking Co. He was one of the best of men, kind, generous and always thoughtful for his fellow man. He was one whose name heads the list of noblemen, yet the treachery of those fellow man helped to shorten his days. He leaves a wife and four children to mourn him. They are Mrs. Chas. W. Gibson and Mrs. Will Heapy of Litchfield and two sons Joseph of Omaha and George at home. He will be missed by those that knew him best.
