DeAnn Sagmo was born April 11, 1958 in Detroit Lakes, MN to Chester and Eileen (Harthun) Sagmo. She attended school in Detroit Lakes, graduating from Detroit Lakes High School in 1976. After school she worked various jobs around the lakes area. Throughout her working career she was employed by Swift's Turkey Plant in Detroit Lakes and ran her own house cleaning service for several years. Most recently, DeAnn assisted her sister at the Lake Center Convenience Store until retiring due to her health.
DeAnn lived her life to the fullest, even though she battled health problems the last few years, she enjoyed her hobbies as much as possible. DeAnn's love for horseback riding, especially her Medora trail rides, her camping trips with her family were events in her life she cherished most. She also collected many country western crafts and Coca Cola memorabilia. She was known for her "matter of fact" outlook on life and her wonderful cooking skills. DeAnn loved to travel. She was able to visit several areas throughout the United States, including a trip to Hawaii and Cancun. A few years ago she won a contest that sent her on a trip out west where DeAnn had the time of her life. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her dogs, Carmelo, Snickers and Sparky along with her cat, Stormin Norman.
DeAnn will be remembered and missed by her father: Chester Sagmo of Detroit Lakes, sisters: Bonnie (Darcy) Bellefeuille of Vergas, MN and Kandy (Brad) Pederson of Dent, MN and one brother: Ron (Tammy) Sagmo of Frazee, MN. She is also survived by her special companions: Carmelo, Sparky and Stormin Norman.
