Mrs. Bessie Virginia Carter Cook, 77, of Martinsburg, WV. went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at City Hospital, Martinsburg, WV.

Mrs. Cook, born in Berkeley County, WV; was the daughter of the late Marshall Carter and Lucretia Rideout Carter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Eugene Cook, Jr; one daughter, Helen Robinson; one brother, Samuel Lincoln and two sisters, Thelma A. Timbers and Betty Johnson. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Martinsburg.

Mrs. Cook is survived by four sons, Clyde Cook, Nathan Cook, Charles Cook, Sr. all of Martinsburg, and Roger Cook of Hagerstown, MD. four daughters, Linda Newell, Debra K. Cook, Darlene Foflygen and Blanche Cook all of Martinsburg; thirty-one grandchildren; fifty-eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Eleanor Gooch and husband Glenn of Martinsburg, and Sylvia A. Harmon of Salisbury, MD.

The family received friends on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 the hour prior services at the funeral home.

The funeral services were held at 11am, Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at The Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Martinsburg with Elder John Price officiating.

Burial was made in Douglass Grove Cemetery, Berkeley County, West Virginia.
