Helen P. Klaassen, the daughter of Peter C. and Anna (Rempel) Klaassen was born August 10, 1912 in Carson Township.
She received her education at Cottonwood County District #69 country school, and she took courses through the Moody Bible Institute, Chicago, IL.
Helen was baptized upon confession of her faith at the Gospel Mennonite Church, Mt. Lake, and this is where she remained an active life-long member. She made her home in Mt. Lake where she cared for her father until his death.
Following her father's death, Helen worked at the Mt. Lake Hospital and at the Manor Inn, Mt. Lake. She was church organist and pianist for many years, and she enjoyed flowers and gardening, embroidering, cooking and entertaining her family and friends.
Helen entered the Eventide Nursing Home, Mt. Lake, on February 13, 1997, and this is where she passed away.
Helen is survived by two sisters-in-law, Bertha Klaassen, Mt. Lake and Mary M. Klaassen, Omaha, NE; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Sarah Klaassen and Mary Klaassen; and six brothers, Peter A., John P., Jacob A., Cornelius P., Henry P., and Ben in infancy.
