On Aug. 20, 1953, a baby girl was born. She was adopted by Tommy and Margaret Miles at a very young age and named Deborah M. Miles. Deborah attended elementary and high school in Wagoner. After graduating from high school, she met and married Johnny Gilford, Sr. and to this union two children were born. She became a member of Trinity Church Of God In Christ under the leadership of Elder Wadie L. Brown. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Johnny, and her step dad, Early Gay. Deborah is survived by one daughter, Tammy Gilford, of Wagoner; one son, Johnny Gilford, Jr., of Wagoner; one brother, Tommy Miles, of Muskogee; cousin, Pauline Davis, of Okmulgee; step siblings, Douglas Gay, Earline Gay, Fannie Gay, Pearline Gay, Sylvestor Gay, Joannie Fay Gay, Early Gay, Jr., Charlise Gay, Leon Gay, Clifford Cotton and a host of cousins and friends. Funeral services for Deborah were held at 2 p.m. on Feb. 11 at the Shipman Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Elder Larry E. Walker officiating. Burial followed to Sandtown Cemetery in Wagoner. Services were under the direction of Shipman Funeral Home & Crematory.
