Given to me Oct 9, 2012 by another Find a Grave member......and he retreived this inormation from the National Archives.
Leland was living in Inyo County when he entered the service and was a medic with Medical Company, 32nd Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division. He was seriously wounded by the enemy in North Korea while tending his wounded comrades on January 17, 1952 and died the following day. Corporal Hanson was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Medical Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
