The Rev. Frank Raymond Mauss, 41, a minister in the Church of the Brethren for the past five years and a storekeeper at Bendersville, died at 1:30 o'clock Wednesday morning at his home in Bendersville of a kidney condition. Several weeks ago he underwent treatment at the Harrisburg hospital, but returned home four weeks ago.
The Rev. Mr. Mauss was born in Butler township, a son of the late Jacob and Sara Mauss, both of whom died about 19 months ago.
After attending the Shippensburg state teacher college and Elizabethtown college, the Rev. Mr. Mauss taught school for six years in Lancaster County and for twelve years in Adams County.
For the last year, he operated a grocery store in Bendersville along with his religious work.
The Rev. Mr. Mauss was married to the former Miss Ella M. Hershey, of Gettysburg, on March 28, 1931, who survives along with the following brothers and sisters:
W.W. Mauss. of York; James A. Mauss, of Straban township; Mrs. Milton Slaybaugh of Centre Mills; and Mrs. John Guss of Philadelphia.
Brief furneral services at the Mauss home, Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with concluding services at the Friends Grove Brethren Church, two miles north of Biglerville........Interment in the cemetery adjoining the church.
