Abram was born in Woodmere, NY, to parents Jacob D. Abrams and Margaret Roushorn Strope. In 1861, he married Ellen Shier Highfield. They had two daughters, Efepheme and Ella. Abram was by occupation a farmer, and lived in the 5 towns area his entire life. He died on January 9, 1900 from complications of pleurisy at the age of 60. He was survived by his wife, Ellen, who died two months later and his daughter Efepheme, married to Lewis Pearsall of Far Rockaway.
