Oregon City Banner Courier, Thursday 8 January 1920, Cherryville news:
The funeral of Chas Pashchall occurred here on Sunday from the church. The services were conducted by Rev. Wm. S. Runyan. Charles Paschall committed suicide on Christmas Eve in his cabin near the Arrah Wanna Hotel above Brightwood. No cause was ascertained for the rash act except that he had been suffering from stomach trouble for the past year or so. He was a single man about 45 years of age and was of a quiet inoffensive nature, kind to everybody. The deed was done with a shotgun, the charge penetrating his heart. He died apparently without a struggle. The body was discovered by Jack Greenwood, caretaker at the Arrah Wanna hotel.
