HEROD, Ill. - Otis Palmer, 73, died at 8:12 a.m. Friday at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado. He had worked for Illinois highway department. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Donna (Sullivan); a daughter, Joyce Lewey of Muddy; three sons, John of Hammond, Ind., Otis Dean of Hebron, Ind., and Stanley of Crown Point, Ind.; three sisters, Nina Modglin of Harrisburg, Norma Modglin of Hobart, Ind., and Barbara Cox of Gary, Ind.; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and Vickie Bergman of Earlsville and Robert Lewey of Herod, both whom he raised. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at J.M. Weirauch Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisburg, with burial in Colbert Cemetery in Herod. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
