Obituary from the New Milford Times dated Apr. 7,2000:

"Edward C. Barnhart, 58, of Sila Drive, Saugerties, NY., died suddenly on March 29 at his home.

Born of July 25, 1941 in New Milford, he was the son of the late Hugh & Agnes Viola Raino Barnhart.

An area resident for the past 32 years, he retired from IBM of Kingston in 1996 after 29 years as a staff level publicist. He was a graduate of the State University of New York at Morrisville. He was a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club. An accomplished musician, he played in many area bands including WKRB. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed golf, softball and bowling and was a past president of the IBM Golf League. He was a former member of the Musician's Union in Connecticut.

M. Barnhart is survived by his wife, the former June Gollsneider with whom he recently celebrated his 32nd wedding anniversary; a brother, Hugh Barnhart of Florida; a nephew, William of Florida; and an aunt, Margaret Benoche of New Milford.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in New Preston.
The Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home of Saurgerties is in charge of the arrangements."

A memorial service for Edward Barnhart, who died March 29, 2000, will be held July 25 at 10 a.m. at the Underwood Meadows in Washington.
The service will be conducted by The Rev. Jack Hoak of St. Francis Xavier Church of New Milford.
Mr. Barnhart, who had been a New Milford resident, is survived by his wife, June Gollsneider Barnhart.
