GREENSBORO, NC — Richard "Dick" Fayssoux, of Greensboro, passed peacefully on Friday, November 13, 2009, at Beacon Place.
Dick was born in Asheville, NC, October 29, 1927, the son of Richard "Fessor" and Sarah Shuford Fayssoux.
He was raised at Christ School in Arden, NC, where his father was a teacher and coach.
After graduating in 1945, he joined the Army as a member of the Tank Corps. After discharge he attended UNC at Chapel Hill, where he graduated with a degree in chemistry.
He moved his family to Kingsport, TN, to work for Tennessee Eastman Company. In 1959, he transferred to sales with Eastman Chemical Products and moved his family to Greensboro, NC. He retired in 1985 and for a time pursued videography.
He is survived by his wife, Eugenia Edgerton Fayssoux; his daughter, Tracy Bernstein (Ron) of San Diego, CA; his son, Richard Fayssoux III (Georgene) of Aberdeen; and his son, James Edgerton Fayssoux of Fletcher; his grandchildren, Jane Malone, Jon and Sumlee Fayssoux, Claire and Marie Fayssoux; and his great-granddaughter, Arriana Minton.
A memorial service was held at 1 pm on Friday, November 20, at All Saints Episcopal Church in Sedgefield with inurnment in the Garden of Resurrection.
