Vara Box Akridge, 86, of Pell City, died Saturday in Pell City. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Kilgroe Funeral Home with burial in Ragland Methodist Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Radford Akridge; four daughters, Nelle (Mrs. Joe) Burt, Hubert Shannon, C.P. Underwood, all of Birmingham, Alabama and Ella (Mrs. Jack) Hazelwood, Pell City; son, Robert Box Akridge, Nashville, Tennessee; and two brothers, Henry H. Box, Ragland, and Lelas Box, Birmingham.
