Alma Elizabeth Gibson was born October 28, 1921, in Belle River, Minnesota to Joseph and Elizabeth (Schlosser) Trisko. She grew up on a farm with eight brothers and sisters. Being the second oldest child she gained a lot of teaching experience while growing up and chose to become a professional teacher. Alma married E. Robert Gibson August 30, 1942, and within three years had two children. Living in Westport, Minnesota, she put teaching aside until her children were in Jr. High School. She taught for many years in the rural school system in the Westport and Sauk Centre area, retiring when the rural school system ended. She and her family moved to Sauk Centre in 1959 and resided at 538 Lake Shore Drive where she kept busy raising flowers and grandchildren. Alma died of cardiac arrest February 3, 1997 while recovering in the St. Cloud Hospital from a previous minor attack.
She is survived by her husband, E. Robert Gibson; son, Dr. Robert Joseph Gibson of Fergus Falls; daughter, Constance L. Altenhoff of Westmont, Illinois; grandchildren, Mark and James Gibson, Timothy and Patrick Hayes; brother, Gordon Trisko; sisters, Loretta Schultz, Phyllis Tatman, and Gladys Becker.
She was preceded in death by brother Walter Trisko and sister Elaine Lannigan.
